Forse Roma!

I just got back from the Roma vs. Juventus soccer game a couple of hours ago, and, fortunately, I'm still all in one piece. Italian soccer fans are so crazy! Curses, smoke, explosions...it's all just part of the experience.

Throughout the game, the Juventus fans kept lighting things on fire, creating huge clouds of smoke that drifted through the stadium. Early in the game, and again after they scored, the Juventus fans set off booming firecrackers in the stands, which made everyone jump (some of us mistook them for gunshots at first). You know the fans are crazy when they enclose the opposing team's fans behind glass, bus them in early and don't let them leave until all of the home team's fans have left, and have an entire squad of security guards and firemen waiting down on the field in front of the stands, just in case.

All in all, it was certainly a fun and eventful game! If only Roma had won...
